Genesis
In the beginning, the universe was a boundless void of shrieking destruction known as Hate. Anywhere and anything that Hate beheld, it scorched, and whatever it scorched was reduced to ash and vapor before it could be born.
From the torques of Hate, there eventually sprang a son: Anger.
For eons beyond counting, Anger ruled existence as a tyrant - a god of gluttonous destruction who allowed the dust of the cosmos to gather only so he might taste the sweetness of its shattering. He nurtured the material world solely to enjoy the harvest of its agony. Under his reign, the universe was a theater of catastrophe and death.
But there came a time when a mote of dust escaped the destructive whims of Anger. Hidden far away in the shadows where he did not look, matter slowly drew together, huddling in the darkness and cold.
This coalescing material survived the eons by consuming the hatred around it, drawing it inward to a compressed central core until it had carved out a small, silent sanctuary - a void of peace amidst the storm - in which to quietly float along.
As the star consumed more and more surrounding hatred, it began to emit immense heat and a vibrant glow, clearly distinguishing its boundaries from the peaceful space surrounding it, until one day it grew so large that Anger began to notice its faint glow in the distance. Knowing that it was discovered, and fearing that it would be destroyed, the young star performed a holy sacrifice.
In a roar of light that silenced the heavens, the star shattered its unity: One became seven, a constellation of spirits instantly sworn to a familial pact of holy fellowship and cooperative protection. From the womb of the supernova, the Seven Sisters awoke.
- Sister Maia: "Platinum Starseed", the first of the lesser stars to form
- Sister Electra: "Silver Starseed", the second eldest
- Sister Taygete: "Emerald Starseed"
- Sister Alcyone: "Sapphire Starseed"
- Sister Celaeno: "Opal Starseed"
- Sister Asterope: "Ruby Starseed"
- Sister Merope: "Diamond Starseed", whose light is so faint and pure she remains hidden from the eyes of mortals
Anger, confused by this multiplication and unable to strike a target that was everywhere at once, sought to mimic the Sisters' divinity. He tore his own essence into pieces, birthing the six evil forces. Because Merope's light was so faint, Anger could not see her, and miscounted the stars - creating only six evil forces, or "The Six".
Wherever the Sisters moved to create, The Six moved to undo. Thus began a great cycle: The rising and setting of the sun, the arrival of spring and the departure of winter, the blooming of the flower and its wilting, the inhale of birth and the exhale of death, throughout the worlds.
To guard their creations, the Sisters fashioned the first dragon Atmos, a wyrm of the high winds, to coil around the first living planet, Ergonam. Throughout eons, the Sisters and their dragons seeded the voids of space with four other glowing worlds each teeming with living, breathing spirits. The five worlds are each guarded by the celestial dragons - Atmos, Lithos, Hydros, Pyros, and Chronos - who have mitigated the ever encroaching presence of The Six in their respective realms.
Until now, as a new evil emerges...
In a quiet corner of the universe, from the very galaxy the Sisters conjured out of benevolence, on an insignificant, yet technologically advanced planet - the hazy, orange world of Aurelion - a figure ascends through the iron ranks of empire and diplomacy with an ancient cosmic agenda embedded deep within his psyche.
His eyes - black, empty, and void - are turned away from the heavens and toward a single, vibrant jewel: The tiny, colorful world of Orizaya.
